My name is Shannon Randels and I am the Gifted Learning Specialist here at Mountain Vista. I was born and raised here in Colorado and attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins where I studied Human Development and Family Studies. I continued my education at the University of Colorado in Denver and earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2005, and later got my endorsement in Gifted Education. This is my sixteenth year of teaching. I have experience teaching kindergarten, first, second and third grade as a classroom teacher, with many of those years being a gifted cluster teacher. This is my second year as the Gifted Learning Specialist at Mountain Vista, working with students in kindie through fifth.
My husband Jason and I are the proud parents of two boys; little Owen is a proud and eager first grader here at Mountain Vista and our older son Jack is headed to middle school this year. As you know, parenthood is a precious gift and it is a dream realized for me. Aside from being a mom, I enjoy camping, going to concerts, compulsively reading good books, taking pictures, baking, running, and having family dance parties in the kitchen.
I am so looking forward to getting to know you and your kiddos this year! It is an honor to share this chapter in your child’s educational journey.
Fondly,
Shannon Randels
